Labels, Cards, Etc.
Spine Labels:
There are many ways to print spine labels in Sirsi. Some involve reports, some do not. Generally, all involve some complicated set-up:
Note: All of these methods will require some finagling to suit your local situation.
- Use a report and print to label sheets
- Use a report and print to tractor-feed labels
- Use the label-printing feature in the C client and print to a tractor feed printer or a label printer like the Dymo LabelWriter line(no pocket labels, requires edits on each label for most libraries)
- Use the label-printing feature in the new Java client and print to a tractor feed printer or a label printer like the Dymo LabelWriter line
Order Cards
You can also use Sirsi to make some rough order cards. At Albany County, we have been running these cards weekly, printing onto cardstock paper, and cutting with a chopper. They work for our purposes, and save us the trouble of producing cards for each vendor we buy from. Other libraries may not need cards at all.
This can be done using the Huntsville PL macro as modified by Stephen.
